The Hope of Easter

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living HOPE through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead -- 1 Peter 1:3

We are so grateful for the wonderful Easter weekend we had! Keith's and I had a day of recharging and reconnecting on Friday while the kids were in school. We splurged and treated ourselves to a massage and then sushi for lunch! It had been a several months since we had a day alone together and it was wonderful!

On Saturday we went to visit some family that were in town and meet one special girl for the 1st time! My cousin Kirsi and her baby, Giana were here in Orlando with my aunt and uncle from Atlanta. I had never see. The baby before this weekend and she is 10 months old and an absolute cutie! Of course EA loved playing with her! We took these before we went swimming:)

Elizabeth Anne and 2 of my cousins' daughters Mackenzie and Giana.

Ready for the pool! We had a great time seeing my family and finally meeting Gianna!

Once we got home it was time for the Easter bunny to make a surprise visit! He even knocked on the door and left baskets on the porch! It makes our morning before church much smoother if the bunny comes the night before:)

Once the kids begrudgingly got dressed, in their "fancy" clothes, we had a wonderful service centered on the amazing HOPE we have in Jesus! In the fallen and lost world we live in, it is easy to lose sight of the hope we have in Christ and so encouraging to be reminded of that truth! Even the kids found encouragement in their worship time..Harrison reported that his teacher complimented how nice he looked:) and EA said, "mommy, Jesus is our only hope." with sort of a Star Wars voice!:).

You can see here the joy that (especially Harrison)both kids were expressing prior to church! Thank you Lord for the HOPE you have given us through your resurrected Son!

May the God of HOPE fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with HOPE by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13 NIV)

  3. What a great picture of them! The massage sounds just like what the doctor ordered for both of you and I'm glad you had a relaxing day! I love what you said about our hope in Christ...yesterday it hit me so hard about what an amazing thing His resurrection was...and it's all because of that that we can have any sort of hope at all!
